Gilbert found himself blushing before Matthew even could even finish speaking. How peculiar it felt to be cared about like this, to hear someone admit that they have feelings of this nature for you. Gilbert certainly wasn't used to it, and although desire was the bulk of what had driven Gilbert to sneak off with Matthew like this, he knew there was more to it than that for himself as well.
Heart racing, Gilbert whispered, "And I feel the same. You're not some little toy for me to play with, though, I must admit, I'm rather enjoying playing with you." He chuckled for a moment before continuing; "I've taken quite a liking to you, Süsser. In fact, I think I may be in love with you."
He was going to say more, but instead he fell silent, mumbling, "Sorry, that sounded dumb." There were a million things Gilbert wanted to say, but he feared that he sounded too cheesy or desperate or something, but it was the truth. He didn't know how or when it happened, but the truth way, Gilbert really had fallen for Matthew. His heart felt as though it were about to burst just because they were alone together.
"And though I would love to continue where we left off," Gilbert added, "Upsetting our brothers in the middle of this mess that we've all gotten into... well, it's not the brightest idea."
At this point, Gilbert knew it wouldn't take a whole lot of convincing to get him to stay put. He wanted to keep going after all, but he knew that their brothers were going to be pretty pissy if they didn't find them soon. Reluctantly, he let Matthew go, gently pushing him away and starting to put his own pants back on. "Hand me my shirt, Bitte," he mumbled. He was adamant about not worrying their brothers, but at the same time, a part of Gilbert wished Matthew would convince him to stay.
